October 2013 meal planning

So..."How do I do it??"...you ask.  Well it's really simple actually (at least to me).  I will be sharing my monthly meal plan at the beginning of every month so you can see and doing some elaborating on the plan.

The link above is a word document of this months meal plan.  A lot of the recipes came out of Taste of Home quick cooking cookbooks from 2003 and 2008.  Some of the recipes, like the Baked Spaghetti, are just way to big for my little family so I divide it into 2 8x8's.  I bake one and the other one is all put together for a meal next month.  That's one of my little secrets.  Got a yummy meal but don't want all the leftovers (because it makes like 8-12 servings!!)...split it :)

You will also notice that my breakfasts are the same for every week.  Yes we do vary it up from week to week with the item (sick of just plain old pancakes, well then add something...pumpkin, blueberries, bananas, etc.), but the item stays the same.  This just makes it easier and the kids love the variety.  I don't buy a lot of cereal (2-3 boxes a month).  We go through 18 eggs in about 8-10 days. I will also try to post a new recipe every Monday so you can see the yummy meals we make and get some good recipes.  The lunches I also keep pretty much the same throughout the month because they are quite varied.  Snacks aren't always what is on the menu, it's just there for an idea.  If the kids want something else, I let them have it.  Hope this helps with your meals this month!!
